MA 48 – Vertical green wall

Project in progress:

03/2010 –

Content:

Green4Cities team members participated in a development to cover this public building in “green fur”, completed in 2009. Since then, a monitoring program on the vertical wall has been running. This research provides information about impacts on building physics and microclimatic performance of the façade, water consumption, transpiration and the overall development of the vegetation layers over time.

Future Steps:

Successful pilot projects like this help form processes to implement greening façades in public spaces. This pilot project MA 48 provides a valuable basis to help future investors make decisions, and to optimize designs.
