Microforest within DorotheenQuartier

Located in Stuttgart’s DorotheenQuartier, at Eduard-Breuninger-Straße, a microforest was created in a very short time – 3 months from announcement to initial planning and completion. In the middle of the city center, visitors can expect forest vegetation that is not only noticeably cooler, but also smells differently of the forest in every season.

The temporary installation is designed to last three to five years and consists of three cross-sections of untreated standard timber, of which only the front side is treated with biological wood protection. All fixtures and substrates, including the planting, will subsequently be reused in construction projects in the immediate vicinity.
