Story
The project consortium is developing a new tree planting method that can be used independently of conduits in the ground as a sponge city element. Valuable rainwater is efficiently stored and made available for vegetation.
Due to its design, the system can be quickly and easily supplied with watering vehicles during heat waves and dry periods.
Smart irrigation and drainage controls as well as a reporting and monitoring system guarantee optimal operation.
The modular StreetTREE concept consists of the following components:
- water- and root-proof trough in variable design and size
- (throttled) connection/overflow to the sewer system
- innovative structural substrate
- lightweight plant trough, special plant substrate, self-sufficient irrigation system
- sensor and control setup
