Green infrastructure plays an essential role in the adaptation of urban spaces to climate change. However, implementation has so far been very low, both in public spaces, in urban development and in private building projects. A major reason for this are uncertainties regarding the effects of green infrastructures and their monetary evaluability as well as benefits.
GREeNvaluation – Real-time monitoring and performance evaluation
The goal of the greenvaluation project is therefore the development of the greenvaluation toolkit as a pathfinder for the implementation of green and livable cities. By visualizing and balancing the benefits of green infrastructure, the benefits become more tangible and understandable. The greenvaluation web application enables better cost-benefit assessments and thus decisions for more greenery. This could eliminate and overcome major financial reservations or barriers to the implementation of green infrastructure. The greenvaluation toolkit is intended to create awareness far beyond the target areas.
